BUSINESS INTERRUPTION

This cover replaces lost income(profits) and pays for extra expenses when a business is affected by a covered peril. Business interruption policy is given in conjunction with the material damage covers, ie., a) Fire & Allied Perils policy or b) Machinery Breakdown policy.

CONTRACTOR’S ALL RISKS INSURANCE

During the course of execution of project relating to construction of building and civil engineering works, certain unforeseen accidents could occur resulting in considerable financial loss to the contract works, construction / or the principals arising from damage to the contract works, construction of plant and machinery as well as Third Party Claims. The Contractors All Risks (CAR) Insurance has been designed to protect the interests of the Contractors /Principal against such losses.

Contractor’s Plant and Machinery

A contractor’s plant and machinery insurance policy indemnifies the insured civil contractor for any damage caused to the latter’s machinery and plants during an ongoing civil engineering project or construction. The plant machinery insurance covers the damage costs of the property of a contractor, whether such property is at work or rest. Some contractors plant and machinery policies also indemnify the contractor for any damage caused during dismantling the machinery for the purpose of overhauling or cleaning or when the machinery is being shifted within construction site premises.

MACHINERY BREAKDOWN

The policy provides cover against sudden and unforeseen physical loss of or damage to your machinery whether at work or at rest, or being dismantled for the purpose of cleaning, inspection or overhauling, or in the course of the operations, or when being shifted within the premises during subsequent re-erection. The cause of sudden and unforeseen damages could be due to the following:- • Faulty material, design, construction and erection • Vibration, mal-adjustment or mal-alignment • Defective lubrication, loosening of parts, abnormal stress, molecular fatigue, self-heating centrifugal force • Excessive electrical pressure, whether due to atmosphere electricity or otherwise • Short-circuit or arcing • Lack of skill and carelessness in handling the machinery

ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT INSURANCE

Electronic Equipment Insurance covers accidental, unforeseen and sudden physical loss or damage to electronic equipment (Including system software) against sudden & unforeseen physical damage by any cause or peril those are not excluded under the Policy.
